The first known heart attack was recorded just over 100 years ago. Just over 100 years ago, the industrial breeding of farm animals and the processing of man-made food began. Could this possibly have something to do with the nation of overweight, unhealthy beings that we are today? We all know it is, but only a handful of us have taken control of our own destiny. It’s easy. Eat raw food to lose weight.
Eat raw foods for good health. Oh, there are plenty of diet and low-calorie foods that you can just pop in the microwave. There are also many healthy raw foods. Please investigate. You will find that the highly processed foods made to lose weight contain ingredients that make you unable to lose weight and also put your health at risk. You should eat raw foods instead to lose weight. Do your homework again. You’ll find that raw food is packed with nutrients your body needs to fuel you to a long, healthy life.
Choosing to go raw isn’t a kind of transition. Nobody expects you to throw away everything in your kitchen and stock up on carrots and celery. In fact, that would be a big mistake. What you want to do is change your diet so that the transition to raw food is more gradual and doesn’t come as a huge shock to your system. Eat two raw meals a day and one cooked meal, making lunch your cooked meal. They can be versatile to fit into all social gatherings.
One of your raw meals should include a large salad made up of lots of green leafy vegetables. The only thing you want to do is maintain a nutrient rich diet. Cooked and processed foods offer little or no nutrients. If you have cravings, by all means satisfy those cravings. Just eat a slice of this chocolate cake instead of half the cake. A smaller amount will satisfy that craving and eventually you’ll find that those cravings are just memories.
The body is in its natural cleansing cycle in the morning and fruit is a cleansing food, so breakfast is a good time to eat fresh fruit or drink a glass of freshly squeezed fruit juice. It is best to stick to one type of fruit for breakfast. A few raw nuts or seeds are good for protein if you are used to consuming protein in the morning and feel a need for it.
The transition to raw food should be done over time. There are people who can get up one morning, choose to get raw and never look back. For most of us, change isn’t instantaneous? We need time to adjust as we move on. One of the most damaging things to our diet and health is processed foods, and processed foods are the first thing we need to eliminate from our diets. Eating raw will be a futile endeavor if we only fuel our bodies with the toxins we are trying to get rid of.
Salt is another food that we don’t need in our diet. Many publications recommend using sea salt, kosher salt, or other substitutes for regular iodized salt. Salt is still salt and it contains sodium chloride. Every shot of salt you use raises your blood pressure. All of the natural sodium a person needs can be obtained from nutrient rich foods.
Sugar is nothing more than pure, refined carbohydrates. If you need a sweetener, substitute honey or raw dates for sugar.
A good raw food diet can be as little as 70 to 80 percent raw food. Remember, when it comes from the earth it’s natural and when it’s manufactured it’s processed and we really want to avoid processed foods. The more raw foods you eat when eating raw food for weight loss, the better and healthier the results will be.
Getting enough protein shouldn’t be a problem? Just know that you get plenty of protein from fresh leafy green vegetables and raw nuts and seeds. If meat and fish are your main sources of protein and you find it difficult to give them up, try cutting back to once or twice a week. If you do a little research, you might find yourself more inspired to get your protein raw.
Enzymes are necessary for us to digest and absorb dairy products. As enzymes are destroyed during the processing and homogenization of dairy products, they form mucus, trigger allergies, and cause sinus and intestinal problems. We’ve always been told that to get the calcium our bodies need, we need products like milk, cheese, and yogurt. The truth is that beyond a very young age, our bodies lose the ability to properly digest dairy products. Very high levels of calcium are found in fresh leafy greens, raw seeds and nuts.
Grains like rice, bread, and whole grains are some foods that are difficult for our bodies to digest in their natural state (without cooking). Grains will probably be the hardest food to eliminate for some people when they go raw? especially bread.
Steamed vegetables and hot soups can be hard to give up when you’re a vegetarian or vegan. Going 70 to 80 percent raw is a phenomenal achievement, so don’t overdo it. Take small steps to reach your ultimate goal.
Switching to raw food is a lifestyle change that can be a devastating experience. So if you use drugs, alcohol, caffeine or tobacco it can be even more difficult. There are a lot of people who can go 100 percent raw and at the same time throw away cigarettes, drugs, coffee and alcohol and be fine. For most of us, the dependencies we’ve formed are a little harder to break, but don’t worry. You will find these dependencies diminish as your body cleanses itself until you find you no longer need them. Reaching your raw food goal can take anywhere from a few months to a few years.
